Château Margaux is the greatest ambassador of Margaux as it has the privilege to bear the name of this appellation. For several centuries this Premier Cru expresses the exceptional quality of these terrains, patiently gathered by several generations of proprietors. Maintained and cropped with extreme care exclusively by hand these 78 hectares vineyard (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) draw their richness out of the depth of the particularly dense and thick clay and gravel soil. The fermentation in oak barrels for 18 to 24 months produces a strictly selected wine. Tasting Château Margaux - as the masterpiece among the Bordeaux wines, some even say the best - it reveals fineness and opulence, profoundness and complexity and develops a rarely elegant bouquet of rose, violet and black fruits, underlined by tight tannins demanding a patient ageing to bloom fully.
