(Michel Redde et fils)
Loire Valley

Michel Redde, born in Saint-Anderlain in 1930, chose to stay at the vineyard in order to carry on with the family wine-growing tradition upheld by his parent, grandparents and great grandparents (who lived mainly on polyculture and ageing), that was once reserved exclusively for the monks (hence the name Moynerie). It took a lot of courage to move here, in 1950, accompanied by his wife Simone, and buy, regroup, clear and plant the land in order to extend the family property. 10 years later, they decided to build a wine-tasting cellar, which they called “La Moynerie”, at the side of the famous national highway where Michel Redde tended his parents' goats and cows from the age of 10 to 15. . La Moynerie was opened to the Franch and foreigners alike in July 1996 and enabled the Redde family to promote its Pouilly Fumé and Pouilly-sur-Loire wines. It was a commercial success, both on a national and international level, as at the time, the highway was the only existing way to cross France by road (from Paris to the Côte d’Azur). In 1977, Thierry Redde, Simone and Michel's son, having been brought up in the wonderful world of vineyards and wine, joined his parents in order to bring new ideas and increase the surface area of their vineyards which today cover 35 hectares situated in the heart of the appellation. .
