The Layon Valley schist hillsides are exposed to the Anjou sunshine and later, when autumn comes, to the mists which favour the " pourriture noble " of the chenin. It is there, in Beaulieu, that the Morgat family keep up the tradition of a fruity Coteaux-du-Layon which with time acquires a subtle and complex bouquet.
