This wine, which is made of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Merlot, is dark and shiny in the glass. The nobility and fineness of its aromas of black currant, tobacco and cedar immediately give it the dimension of great Médoc wines.
It then flows in a powerful and velvety manner under the palate. The feeling of concentration and length, which were rare this year, is truly appreciated. Pichon Baron has given itself the means to be a success by using very small yields: 32 hl/ ha. Only 2003 had lower yields.
This wine, which received a mark of 90-92/100 from Parker, is truly one of the stars of the vintage.
