Château Latour 2007 is the history of a long quest for light and the fruit of the extraordinary know-how of Frédéric Engerer’s team.
Because, if Latour’s great wine, which is made with honour and courage, never speaks of the pain of its birthing, you must be made aware that every decision, for better or worse, is crucial in this vineyard and its harmonious hillsides that lie near the Gironde River.
At the end, the combination of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot represent only 41% of the harvest. An infernal sort that was carried out by the Château with a master’s touch.
Latour 2007 has two major characteristics: depth and structure, which are similar to those of the sumptuous 1999. This year, its strength, while present, leaves more room for a caress: “It is not a great wine for ageing, but it is a very beautiful vintage”, they write.
It’s true. And it is so much more pleasant to taste the Latour Knight under a more courteous light! But no less noble and refined, mature and harmonious.
This is an ideal year to fill your cellar with this myth, especially when its price has decreased by 26%! ’
