Ducru Beaucaillou holds its rank perfectly for 2006. Its aromas of small black berries seem to be awakened by the freshness of dawn, in a wicker basket full of ruby colours, built as delicately as a pretty bird’s nest in the crook of a tree. This wine, which is already pleasant when tasted, a rare feat for this vintage, is comparable to 1996, according to The Wine Spectator magazine, and awakens a true emotion, which only fades very long seconds later, to make way for velvety liquorice notes. This is a wine for all lovers of great classic Bordeaux.
