As 2004 vintage gave superb Cabernet Sauvignon, Jean Guillaume Prats (Cos d'Estournel's director) used them in majority (74%) to offer us a wine of great structure. Its bouquet distils very nice flavours of ripe currants, liquorice, fresh tobacco and smoke hints. The vintages’ freshness and the Cabernets' strength are harmonised on the palate. Rated 92-94/100 by Robert Parker, 5 hearts for 1855 and a price down of 40% compared to last year, there are only Bordeaux estates that know how to combine great quality and sensible rebate on prices!
