Château: |
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou. Situated, as its name indicates, on a hilltop and spread out over 50 hectares, this vineyard occupies some of the most beautiful land in Médoc. Planted with 65 % cabernet-sauvignon, 25 % merlot, 5 % cabernet franc and 5 % petit-verdot, this Domaine produces a wine considered by some to be the true essence of Bordeaux, and especially of Médoc. The owner's meticulous attention to detail, the care with which the vines are tended, the rigorous selection of the grapes are the factors which contribute to making this a supremely elegant and balanced wine, always discreet, and which often needs to be stored for more than ten years in order to enjoy it at its best.
