This year, all of Jean-Hubert Delon’s vintages distinguish themselves by their intensity and elegance. A true success for the winemakers of Léoville Las Cases, one of the greatest 2007 Bordeaux.
Like it, the Marquis de Las Cases offers “impeccable balance between strength and fineness” (Bettane and Desseauve) and has earned a fine mark of 88-91/100 from Parker.
In 2007, few châteaux took the risk of a composition that was as rich as those of Las Cases and Clos du Marquis. The latter is made of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, which are strengthened by press wine.
Its fresh, dense and fruity (blackberries, cherries, spices and flowers) character is a true delicacy.
Today, Clos du Marquis is one of the most appreciated second wines in Bordeaux. The 2007 vintage will definitely continue this “success story”!
