While most Bordeaux wines bear the name of their owners, the Montrose name is a perfectly pitched echo of the characteristics of this great wine from Saint-Estèphe. First, because its throaty consonance recalls this Lord’s qualities of strength, robustness and rebelliousness. Then the meaning itself, which brings to mind deep aromas, as if the prune and cherry had wrapped themselves in the fern that used to cover the small earthen hill of the Château.
