Haut-Bailly, because of the slopes of its vineyard that provide excellent water drainage, triumphs over this temperamental 2006 vintage. This wine, which is very close to the excellent 2005 because of its depth, balance and fineness, distinguishes itself by its already mature character, due to the very hot July weather that had concentrated its grapes and thus its aromas. This Grand Cru de Graves, “gorged with fantastic aromas of blackberries, blackcurrant and dark chocolate” (The Wine Spectator), nevertheless does not lack fineness and refinement, which are again intact and faithful.
