Calon Ségur, exceptional as usual, is now the “third man of Saint-Estèphe”, and, like the Lords Cos and Montrose, shows excellent marks. Calon Ségur 2006, which is very structured and worthy of the strength and distinguished character that are the hallmarks of this world-renowned name, is a wine “harvested” in full maturity. Its aromas of cherry, wet earth and spices coat the palate in a lengthy and deep manner. And while James Suckling remembers the 1995 vintage, Jancis Robinson thinks of Lafite Rothschild… Only great wines have this power of suggestion.
