Cos d’Estournel 2006: a "Super 2002"

Cos d’Estournel promises a “Super 2002” (given a mark of 93/100 by Parker) in 2006 because of original climatic conditions. The heat wave of July, comparable to that of 2003, concentrated the grapes of His Lordship Saint-Estèphe, while the rains of August averted any water stress. The two wines of this domain (Cos d’Estournel and Les Pagodes de Cos), as well as Château Marbuzet, which is also managed by Jean-Guillaume Prats, are somewhat less powerful but as usual, just as rich. The great wine of Cos, which evokes the 1986 and 1988 vintages, will be full of surprises.
