Moët et Chandon’s “Grand Vintage 2000”
Thursday 10/01/2008 |
From New York to Paris, lights! After having dressed the Grand Dame of New York in a costume of lights for her 120th birthday, the “partner” of parties all over the world, splendour and pleasure chose to revel in the greatest Parisian lady last April 24th! And you can be sure, dear Paul Valéry, that the 250 prestigious guests invited by the Moët et Chandon house to enjoy and celebrate the release of the Grand Vintage 2000 did not enter the luxurious lounges of the Musée de l’Homme in Paris “without some desire”. With an incomparable view of the Eiffel Tower, this event was worthy of this Champagne, which is freely made by the head of the cellars of the Epernay house, Benoît Gouez, and of the dinner imagined by the award-wining chef of Cordeilan-Bages in Pauillac, Thierry Marx.
A declaration of luxury and liberty The last vintage of a freewheeling 20th Century, the 2000 vintage wants to be “a declaration of luxury and freedom”, writes the Epernay house. “Without taking away from the style of the house”, we must “give a personality to the vintage”, explains Benoît Gouez. The effervescent star of the evening, which is complex and mature, incisive and distinguished, has a tasty personality that comes from a composition of 50% Chardonnay, 34% Pinot Noir and 16% Pinot Meunier. A resolutely luxurious and refined jewel, which, on the lips of Sonia Rykiel, mixed its magic with that of Paris
