Champagne Beaugrand Brut Réserve
Sunday 01/04/2007 |
1855 has chosen today, and for the first time, to place our lips on Champagnes from the Aube region, specifically in Montgueux, where the Beaugrand family produces this Brut with a remarkable quality/price ratio.
The first asset of Champagne Beaugrand is found without a doubt in the clay and limestone sub-soils of Montgueux, an exact replica of those found in Chassagne-Montrachet, - as these two come from the same rocky upheaval -, sub-soils that give this Brut Champagne its fineness and power.
The Chardonnay grape, which is grown on 90% of this vineyard, offers a great sweetness at harvest time. This quality has not escaped the notice of major Champagne Houses, which, like Veuve Clicquot, come to see the Beaugrands to buy their grapes.
They produce this Brut, which has a supple and generous character, according to growing methods that show a lot of respect for the soil and traditional wine making. In fact, the palate does not find any acidity when tasting the bewitching aromas of white fruit and toasted bread, even this delicious note of red berries at the finish…
