Clos de los Siete 2005 : The Argentine dream of Michel Rolland
Friday 06/07/2007 |
It has been 15 years since Michel Rolland travelled through Argentina, going from one domain to another in order to provide his valuable advice. A trip during which he had this dream: to create a great and enjoyable wine, and why not, the best, in his lands that are so suited to growing grapes.
This dream becomes reality in 1988 when Michel Rolland and six of his friends, all recognised producers, start building Clos de los Siete (“the Seven’s Vineyard”) near Mendoza.
It is a colossal undertaking, but the result is worth it: the first Clos de los Siete (2002) vintage is recognised by Parker as one of the best price/pleasure ratios of all Argentina.
And success continues! Because this 2005 is, without a doubt, the best of the Clos de los Siete wines, a rich combination of Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. It is an explosion of cocoa, mocha, prune and fig aromas, in a balanced, dense and silky style.
The rising star of Argentina, at a price of Euros 13.00, is a wine of passion and pure enjoyment to be shared.
