Instantaneous takeoff to Clos Puy Arnaud
Tuesday 18/04/2006 |
The Côtes de Castillon appellation close to the Saint-Emilion appellation, asserts more and more themselves like one of the most conspicuous satellite of the Bordeaux planet. On this argilleous clay the {dom}Clos Puy Arnaud{/dom} domain's owner, Thierry Valette Works hard to obtain great wines.
Under Stéphane Derenoncourt's advice, he decided to use the biodynamic method and to practice the low yields method. These efforts were crowned with success since M. Parker classified the Clos Puy Arnaud among the first 13 appellation domains.
If you taste his 2003 Vintage born of a rich blending of five grape varieties - Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Carménère - you will know that from now Clos Puy Arnaud entered not only in the Saint Emilion's playground but in the great Bordeaux playground.
Its robe has a deep ruby color with violine hues and its greedy nose elaborates aromas of blackberry, redcurrant, strawberry, cloves, coffee and chocolate. The "Revue du Vin de France" has been seduced by this wine too: a wine that " asserts itself from its beginning as one of the most prestigious Crus de Castillon."
