Château d'Yquem 2001: rated 100/100 by Parker, the vintage of the century
Friday 30/09/2005 |
You were waiting for this event for months... It is a great pleasure for 1855 to propose you today the perfection of a wine: Château d'Yquem 2001. As you already know, the 2001 vintage saw exceptional wines births at Sauternes thanks to a continuous sunshine that allowed a good concentration of sugar.
Comparable to the 1967 or 1959 vintages, this golden coloured jewel displays honey, orange marmalade, pineapple and sweet crème brulee aromas. For Pierre Lurton, new Château d'Yquem President, the 2001 vintage presents an 'absolutely astonishing balance'.
Rated 100/100 by Robert Parker, Château d'Yquem 2001 'appears as ready to take its place among the most legendary vintages of the past'. The great American wine taster only awarded the 1811 and 1847's vintages with this perfect rate.
The price of the perfection : the rarity. This vintage is available in very small quantities only. Be part of the fortunate people possessing the legendary bottle..
