Château Rayas - cult

Its among all recognizable fineness and its regularity made the Château Rayas a cult wine. Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône Valley. A small domain of ten hectares of grape-wine, lost in the middle of the forest. The domain’s surrounding is as intimidating as the wine itself….. Wine lovers all around the world appreciate it for its strength – that it only reveals being aged – and its refinement, the emblematic wine Rayas has a slightly softened light in multiple nuances.

The secrets of this beverage are an absolutely unique soil in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with its sand and its famous rolled pebbles that provide an extraordinary fineness to the Grenache. Then this old cement lightning bolts where the “Sleeping berries” doze for months, nourishing themselves of their rich dreams… But the biggest secret of this Rhône-myth is the fact, that the grapes are not de-stemmed. Regardless of the vintage, Emmanuel Reynaud brings in the entire grapes to the wine warehouse, like already his uncle Jacques Reynaud did it….

Entire, yes, for even revealing its secrets, the mystery of this mythical wine seems to remain total, like hanging on this enchanted forest’s lips.
