Burgundy: One month before the harvests
Monday 22/08/2005
2003 was unusual, 2004 was complicated: a great 2005 vintage should accentuate the 2005 recovery of the markets… The dry and windy summer has been favourable to the vine, things are presenting well, and a good vintage would be really positive in the context of economic recovery for Burgundy's wines.
The countdown began. At Mercurey, the harvests should start between the 20th and the 25th September. Bertrand de Villar regularly visits his vines, and this first Clos des Ruelles, as the whole Burgundy region, benefited from a favourable summer.
