Cos d'Estounel 2008 : a star !

Cos d'Estounel 2008 : a star !

Wednesday 13/05/2009

2008 is a great vintage for the star of Saint-Estèphe! Three points can explain this success:
- First, the extremely low yields (27 hl/ha)
- And then an unheard of proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%)
- Finally, a new, ultra modern fermenting tank that has allowed Jean-Guillaume Prats’ team to be precise in their work and offer a Cos d'Estournel 2008, which has remarkable richness, strength, concentration, volume and purity.

Richness, distinction, strength and precision
Aromas of blackberries, wet stone, liquorice, flowers, tobacco and spices that are ripe and crisp under the palate around an opulent, elegant, velvety and very lively body, burst from the dark colour of this wine, which is very distinguished and in perfect line with 2005.

It will age easily over 30 or 35 years! For Neal Martin (Wine Advocate – Parker), it has a solid claim to the title of “Wine of the Year”!
