Sud-Ouest: 2005 superlative boosted harvest
Tuesday 11/10/2005
Gascon wine growers are unanimous: '2005 is an exceptional vintage for all South West wines. We are nearing the rare vintage'. From the Bordeaux area to the Pays d'Oc, climatic conditions were remarkable. The continuous sunshine from June to September and a few rainy days just before the harvest endowed the vineyard with ripe, rich and well-balanced fruits. Buzet, Duras, Irouléguy or Bergerac will be up to their reputation: a strong alcoholic structure with delicate blackberry and prune flavours. These wines will delight all thrill-seekers.
