Bergerac
(Bergerac)
(Bergerac)
(Bergerac)
AOC South-West
The principal appellation of the Dordogne, Bergerac is famous with foreigners for the wonderful landscapes of the Périgord, its foie gras and its truffles. Its red, rosé, dry or smooth and sweet white wines, somewhat in the shadow of the Bordeaux wines, are less well-known. However, the red wines produced from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot are ideal for everyday wines, and the smooth sweet or dry white wines made from Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle are delicious aperitif wines, to be drunk with foie gras or with dessert.
