Pauillac

Bordeaux

A legendary appellation that "houses" three first class growths. Pauillac produces unique virile, powerful wines, with a great concentration of flavors.

The Mythics

Château Lafite Rothschild
First Class Growth. One of the three best wines from Pauillac, and without a doubt one the world’s most refined wines.

Château Latour
First Class Growth. THE star wine from the Médoc. A wine of exceptional depth, with a quality level that flirts with perfection.

Château Mouton Rothschild
First Class Growth. Promoted in 1973 to the First Class Growth status, Mouton Rothschild enjoys a worldwide reputation. A wine of exceptional quality. Its labels, drawn by famous artists, have become collector’s items.

The Lords

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande
Second Class Growth.
This prestigious wine is more feminine in style that its neighbor Château Pichon Baron. It shows a particularly soft, velvety touch due to the high proportion (35%) of the Merlot grape.

The Classicals

Carruades de Lafite Rothschild
Second Wine of Château Lafite Rothschild.
A second wine? Maybe, but it plays with a lot of succes a first one!

Château Pontet Canet
Fifth Class Growth.
Ideally located near Mouton-Rothschild, this wine has become one of the leaders of its appellation.

Château d'Armailhac
Fifth Class Growth. This château belongs to Mouton-Rothschild. For a number of years it has shown great consistency in quality.

Château Clerc Milon Rothschild
Fifth Class Growth.
Yet another domain that belongs to Philippine de Rothschild. A complex wine, too often over-looked.

Château Duhart Milon Rothschild
Fourth Class Growth
. Closed when young, but opens up with bottle age showing a lovely velvety texture, and great finesse. Good aging potential.

Château Grand Puy Lacoste
Fifth Class Growth
. A perfect example of a great Pauillac wine. Deep colored, tannic, full-bodied, and a fine quality level kept to vintage after vintage. A domain well worth following.

Château Lynch Bages
Fifth Class Growth.
A relatively supple Pauillac that has been showing well over the last ten years.

Château Pichon Longueville Baron
Second Class Growth
. Right next to Château Latour. Rich, robust, showing great concentration, this wine deserves to be bottle aged.

Les Forts de Latour
Second Wine of Château Latour.
A very great wine, worthy of its “second” of its elder.

Réserve de la Comtesse
Second Wine of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande.
Wonderful second wine, aged by the great “Pichon Comtess” team with a lot of care.

The Reasonables

Château Bernadotte
Cru Bourgeois.
Since 1998, Chateau Bernadotte is vinificated by Pichon Comtesse team. Full, fine structured. “Superbe”.

Château Croizet Bages
Fifth Class Growth.
Since the 1995 vintage the château has proven that it can compete with the finest of its class.

Château Haut Bages Libéral
Fifth Class Growth.
The vineyard is near Château Latour. Haut Bages Libéral produces deep, rich, generous wines with characteristic prunes, truffles and toasted aromas.

Château Haut-Batailley
Fifth Class Growth.
A wine that shows great finesse, made with a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Château Lynch-Moussas
Fifth Class Growth.
Un Pauillac assez souple, qui connaît une belle réussite depuis une dizaine d'années.

Château Pibran
Cru Bourgeois.
Generous without being over the top, tannic, this well-balanced classic-styled Pauillac, frankly deserves to be included in a better classifications.
